In my book Speak the main character Melinda evolves throughout the story in many different ways. Through art, friends, and family she evolves Throughout the book Melinda evolves but at the beginning she is very shy and doesn’t talk to anyone, she also has no friends. Melinda is just getting in to high school, when she meets Heather a girl Melinda finds annoying but she thinks it’s the only friends she has. But one day Heather tells Melinda they can’t be friends anymore. Heather was trying to get in a group called the Martha’s, so she had to stop being friends with Melinda. One day maybe after a couple months of them not being friend Heather is crying at Melinda’s doorstep saying the Martha’s are making her put up posters for senior prom and Heather asks Melinda to help. But Melinda says no, that was one of the times Melinda evolved in the story. Another time Melinda evolved was in her art. Melinda had to draw a various pictures of tree’s for her art class at first Melinda couldn’t draw a very good one , but she kept working and working and she stated improving. One day she went to the mall and saw one of the girls in her art class named Ivy, Ivy was one of Melinda’s old friends. Ivy had to draw clowns as her art project. Together Ivy and Melinda started drawing a tree and they also started talking to. That another way Melinda evolved but this time she evolved through art and friends.
Through the story the main character Melinda evolved. At the beginning she was sad, shy, and an outcast. But through the story she started coming out of her shell, and made some friends. At the end of the story Melinda drew the prefect tree and become you she really was.
